Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of classes do you offer?

We are proud classes for students ages 18 mo - 17 years for both girls and boys! Once you create a parent account through our New & Existing Customer Portal in iClassPro and add your child as a student, you should be able to view all classes available to them based on their age.

  • My child is new to gymnastics. Which class would they be in?

For children 5 and under, their class is determined by age. At age 6, girls will start with Level 1 Women’s Gymnastics classes and boys will start with Boys 6+ Men’s Gymnastics classes. All students start at Level 1 and upon completion of their Level 1 Skill Chart will move to the next level.

  • What should my child wear to class? Do they have to be in leotards?

Boys or Girls may wear tucked in T-shirts and shorts OR Leotards for Girls. Hair should be pulled neatly and securely away from the face so that it stays up for the entire workout. Girls should not wear bows or other large hair ornaments, hooded sweatshirts, dangling jewelry (earrings or necklaces), or any other item that may cause discomfort during activity. There are to be no shoes on the gym floor nor socks worn on the trampoline or beams of any height due to safety concerns. We suggest leggings or joggers with a long-sleeved shirt in the winter and athletic shorts and fitted tank tops in the summer.

  • How do I know when my child is ready to move to the next level?

For all preschool-style classes (18mo - 5y), your coach will let you know as soon as they believe they are ready for the next step! For all leveled classes, we require the successful completion of their skill chart for their current level. Skill charts are accessible through your iClassPro account and have the requirements for passing each gymnastics event at their current level. Once they have mastered all skills across all events at their level, their coach will discuss with you looking at transitioning to the next level.

  • I keep checking my child’s skill charts, but they haven’t been making significant improvements. What can they do to improve their gymnastics skills to better e next level?

If students are interested in putting in work to improve outside of class, we encourage students to practice strength training at home under adult supervision: push-ups, sit ups, cardio, etc. A big part of gymnastics is getting stronger so that your body is prepared for the skills we are practicing. We do not suggest children practice full skills (e.g. handstands, back walkovers, etc.) at home, as there is always a risk of injury without supervision. If you are interested in getting specific information on what your child can work on, ask their coach! Their coach will be able to give you more specific suggestions based on what they notice may need some improvement in class.

  • What is your makeup policy?

We do not offer makeups for missed classes.

  • My child is interested in joining the Boy’s or Girl’s Team. How do I know if they are ready?

Our team students are pulled directly from our recreational program! Our Boy’s and Girl’s teams are invite-only, and our coaches are always on the lookout for students who show exemplary ability, form, commitment, and attitude to recommend for our competitive groups. In the girl’s program, students are evaluated for the competitive program once they have completed all skills across all events through Level 3. In the boy’s program, students are evaluated on a rolling basis prior to the beginning of the boy’s competitive season given interest in competing. While we begin evaluations based on skill level and form, we consider motivation, positive attitude, and level of commitment as some of the most important factors in our invites to the team.

If you are coming from a competitive program at a different gym and are interested in our program, please contact us at pcgfrontdesk@gmail.com with your current level and last level competed so we can best direct any questions you may have.
