Class Descriptions & Age Levels

These classes are for those who want a more play-based class following an emergent curriculum. Minus a few weeks during the summer, these classes have access to the majority of the gym. Unlike the 'Afternoon Preschool Program,' per the instructor, there is more freedom to utilize the space in the gym for a wider variety of activities and circuits.

Baby Seals (12- 18mo, CoEd)

“I still prefer crawling but I started pulling up and scaling anything and everything and I might be trying to walk. My mom may not know everything I want but I will sure point at what I want until someone figures it out. I may know my name, although I cannot answer, I am starting to understand who my leader is.”

A guided open gym where there will be an instructor that will have various circuits and activities set up that you can choose or choose not to participate in. These activities will encourage mobility, coordination, and social interaction for your little one. We have the entire gym to ourselves (minus a few summer weeks) during this time which allows for the space and ability for emergent curriculum.

Class Prerequisites

  • 12-18mo of age
  • Adult participant must attend class with their child, actively engaged in the class and within 3 feet of their child at all times on the gym floor

This class is not currently open for enrollment, but check back soon as we add new classes all the time!

Buddy & Me (18mos - 3 years, Co-Ed)

“I am a mover and a shaker, I might even be starting to run. I can listen and understand you even if I may not always comply with your directions. I want to participate in activities and although I want to be as big as my head is, I still may need my mom and want to hold my dad's hand.”

Come play in a guided open gym, structured with songs, circuits, parachute, and a variety of organized play. We have the entire gym to ourselves during this time (minus a few summer weeks) which allows for the space and ability to promote use of an emergent curriculum. This allows the coach to encourage students and their parents to explore the space around them in a safe, fun environment. This class

Tumble Bugs (3-4 yrs, Co-Ed)

"I am very good at listening, although I will test you to see if you will make me. I am learning to listen to others even if my mom isn’t here and I am excited to do as much activity & play as I can. So be ready to entertain me!”

In this class, students will learn mobility, balance, and coordination as they grow their skills through obstacle courses and circuits! They will learn throughout this class to follow from one station to another…even though they may forget and/or create their own version of that station. That is OK! We will also work on how to be safe in a new environment or movement, which is much more conducive in an environment without many outside distractions. This class is structured to promote use of an emergent curriculum, allowing the coach to move from station to station or even all the way across the gym to whichever event or learning style that may work better for each individual class.

Class Prerequisites

This class is designed for 3 & 4 year olds who graduate from our Sea Horses (Buddy and Me) class and/or kids who are ready to attend class independently.

  • Fully potty trained
  • Must be 3 or 4 years of age
  • Able to stay with the class throughout the gym and/or responds to redirection

Some students may need to attend a Sea Horses & Me or Buddy & Me class to get used to our gym before they are ready to join independently in a Tumble Bugs class. We ask guardians to stay inside the building for all children under 5 for their first few classes.

Monday Tuesday Thursday
10:00-10:45am 11:00-11:45am 11:00-11:45am

Cartwheelers (4-5 yrs, Co-Ed)

"I am no longer a baby sea otter but I am still not quite ready to swim with the big fish. I know how to follow the leader although I still like to be free to sing songs and play. I am starting to learn some big kid gymnastics and might be getting ready for the level classes."

Since we have the ability to utilize the entire gym (minus a few summer weeks) we are able to do a variety of circuits and activities that we might not be able to do in the afternoon preschool program due to increased usage of the gym by other classes. Your child will begin to learn some of the basic gymnastics skills such as a forward roll, spotted backward roll as well as the beginning of a handstand or cartwheel. This class is structured to promote use of an emergent curriculum, allowing the coach to move from station to station or even all the way across the gym to whichever event or learning style that may work better for each individual class.

Class Prerequisites

This class is designed to be a step up from the Sea Otters class. Students may join this class at 4 years or with early coach recommendation.

  • Fully potty trained
  • 4 or 5 years of age
  • Able to stay with the class throughout the gym and responds to redirection

We ask guardians to stay inside the building for all children under 5 for their first few classes to promote comfort in a new environment.
